Lake Annecy Photo Spots
I couldn’t write an Annecy photo guide without putting Lake Annecy front and centre. The beautiful blue waters are so inviting, and although it was definitely too cold to swim when I visited, I felt like I could jump right in.
You can see out to the lake from the east side of the town, but I recommend taking a short walk towards Annecy-le-Vieux. If you stay by the lake you’ll get beautiful views for the whole route, and you’ll find the best photo spots along here.
Impérial Palace Hotel
The grounds around the Impérial Palace Hotel boast the best views. You can walk all around the mini-peninsula. The shots of this mountain made for the best photos, but the views really did stretch on forever to the right of this photo.
Sunset Over Lake Annecy
In a place as beautiful as Annecy, of course you’re going to see some beautiful sunsets. Even on a slightly cloudy day the colours peeking through the clouds are just gorgeous.
Pont des Amours (Lovers Bridge) Photo Spots
This gorgeous bridge marks the entrance to the old town of Annecy. Of course, you’ll get beautiful views over Lake Annecy, and there’s a nice park (Jardins de l’Europe) next to it if you want to explore a bit more.
As you can expect with a name like Lovers Bridge, local legend dictates that if you kiss someone on this bridge, you’ll be with them forever! Check out these lovely Annecy photo spots below, taken at different sides of the bridge.
Old Town Annecy Photo Spots
Once you’ve marvelled at the lake views you can start to make your way into the old town. You’ll still see lots of water, as Annecy has a large network of canals, but there’s also adorable cobbled streets and eye-catching buildings.

More Photo Spots in Annecy Town
The old town isn’t the only place to take photos around the centre of Annecy. You’ll also find some amazing Annecy photo spots further out, including the grand Basilica of the Visitation, which is almost too big to fit into a photo!
Lake Annecy Photo Spots in Talloires
Beautiful views of Lake Annecy aren’t restricted to just Annecy itself. Head to another of the lakeside towns, such as Talloires, for an even more serene experience.
Fun Fact: These photos were taken at the exact spot of the Irish band Kodaline’s cover art for their album “In A Perfect World”.
Cascade d’Angon: Lake Annecy Photo Spots from Above
If you’re looking for an easy hike that will take you to views over Lake Annecy, Cascade d’Angon is the one for you. Although steep, this route isn’t too hard and the reward is definitely worth it. I’ve written a full hiking guide for Cascade d’Angon with everything you need to know to get to these beautiful Lake Annecy photo spots.
That brings us to the end of this wanderlust inducing guide to the best Annecy photo spots. Now when you head to Annecy you’ll have all the locations ready to take the most beautiful shots, and you can focus on taking in the views.
