Instagrammable Places in Paris: The Eiffel Tower
Trocadéro
Can I tell you a secret? I cried when I first saw this view of the Eiffel Tower. It was back in 2017, before my blogging days, meaning I had done little research about my visit, other than the fact that I wanted to visit this famous landmark. My friends and I were staying in Saint-Denis and simply looked for the simplest metro route that landed us as close to the Eiffel Tower as possible. The metro stop we chose was Trocadéro. I stepped out of the station, turned the corner, and had this view stretching out in front of me. It’s safe to say that for a little 19-year-old French student on her first visit to Paris, it was an overwhelming moment.
The memories and the view combined, Trocadéro is now (and I reckon always will be) my favourite view of the Eiffel Tower, and one of the most Instagrammable places in Paris. It’s usually very busy, so I would recommend going quite early to get the place to yourself as much as possible, like in the pictures below.

View from the Seine
Trocadéro isn’t the only place to get a good Instagram shot of the Eiffel Tower. Head down through the Trocadéro Gardens and you’ll reach the Seine, with the Eiffel Tower just across the water. There are many spots along the river to grab a photo, but this particular one is on Place de Varsovie. The trees hide the Tower when in full bloom, so it’s best to catch this view in the winter or early spring.

On the Seine
If you want to take things one step further, hop on a Seine riverboat tour, and see the Eiffel Tower from the water. This is one of the more unique Instagrammable places in Paris, and taking a boat tour is one of the best things to do here. There are many options to choose from around Paris, several of which depart from just next to the previous photo spot. On the boat tour, you’ll have the chance to get unique photos of some other landmarks from the water around the city.
Champ de Mars
Champ de Mars is the park that surrounds the Eiffel Tower, where you can get as close as possible without climbing up. This is a great area to take a picnic on a nice day and sit enjoying the view of the tower. It’s also really fun to take an illusion pic here and try to ‘touch’ the top of the Eiffel Tower in your photo.

Nearest Metro Stop: Bir Hakeim (Line 6)
Bonus Instagrammable places in Paris around Champ de Mars: Rue de l’Université for a cool perspective of the tower in the streets; Bir-Hakeim bridge for a romantic photo.
The Eiffel Tower At Night
When night falls, Paris gets even more magical because the Eiffel Tower lights up, and once an hour the lights sparkle for a few minutes. You’ll definitely want to head back to one of the Eiffel Tower photo spots (of course, I recommend Trocadéro) to see this spectacle.

Rue Cremieux
Paris’ most colourful street makes for a great Instagram photo. This is Rue Cremieux, in the 12th arrondissement of the city, where every house is painted a different colour of the rainbow. This street is definitely somewhere you visit solely for the photo op, as it’s just a residential street, but if you’re looking to inject some colour into your Instagram feed it’s perfect.

Montmartre
Montmartre is the artist’s area of Paris, previously home to artists such as Monet, Renoir, Picasso and Van Gogh. It’s a wonderful place to wander around, or you could even book a tour to learn all about the architecture and history of Montmartre.
Of course, you’ll find many spots in Montmartre to take a beautiful shot for your Instagram. Check out La Maison Rose, the famous pink café; Le Consulat; The Sacre Coeur (pictured below); and Le Moulin de la Galette, a classic French restaurant with a cool windmill exterior (pictured below).

Secret Montmartre Instagram Spot in Paris: The Sinking House
There are a couple of really notable Instagrammable places in Montmartre that deserve their own section. One of those is known as ‘The Sinking House’ due to the illusion created in the photo. By tilting the picture, the house looks as if it’s sinking into the ground when in actual fact it’s the grass that forms a steep hill. This is one of the most fun Instagrammable places in Paris, even if it requires a little editing magic.
The building in question is a hotel called L’Envol, and you’ll need to step into a grassy area by the stairs of the Sacre-Coeur to get this shot. The exact location is below.

Nearest Metro Stop: Abbesses (Line 12)
Top Tip: There’s a funicular railway that takes you up the steep hill to reach the Sacre-Coeur. You can use a standard metro ticket to ride the funicular, and it’s a great option if you’ll struggle to walk up the steps.
Le Mur des Je T’aime
If you get the metro to Abbesses, your first stop should be at one of the sweetest Instagrammable places in Paris. Inside a tiny little park, you’ll find a mural dedicated to love, with the phrase ‘I Love You’ in over 200 different languages. It’s fun to search for your languages (or the ones you know/recognise) on Le Mur des Je T’aime, and it makes for a lovely Instagram shot.

Sunset over Montmartre
As Montmartre sits on a hill, it provides a great panoramic view over the city. It’s one of the best places to watch the sunset in Paris, particularly if you head to the steps of the Sacre-Coeur. This spot gets incredibly busy, so you may prefer to wander a little yourself.
The view is a little more obstructed but you’ll be able to see the Eiffel Tower and still have a pretty great panoramic view.

The Louvre
Paris’ most famous museum (as well as one of the world’s most famous) has a really cool feature: a glass triangle that appears out of the ground, serving as the main entrance to the museum. You can take photos at many different angles around the Louvre to see what works best for your Instagram shot, but do be prepared for crowds, as this is a very popular place.
Fun Fact: There is a ‘Mini Arc de Triomphe’ just next to the Louvre (visible in the left photo below). It’s called the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, and it was built to commemorate some of Napoleon’s military victories.

Les Deux Plateaux/Les Colonnes de Buren
Across the road from The Louvre is this very unique spot. Les Colonnes de Buren is an art installation inside a square of the Royal Palace, featuring black and white striped columns of varying heights. It’s really fun to play around with perspective here, and the contrast between modern art and classical architecture makes it one of my favourite Instagrammable places in Paris by far.
