Gallofa & Co have some fantastic breakfast options too- try their pancakes, topped toasts or the traditional Spanish omelette. If you’re in a rush, they do takeaway as well!

Primos de Origen
This quaint little spot is perfect for a cosy cup of coffee. These guys are passionate about their coffee and it shows. The interior of the cafe is old-fashioned and very inviting. I found myself nestled in a corner in a comfy armchair and I could have stayed there for hours. They also have a great healthy lunch menu if you fancy something to eat.

No trip to Spain is complete without eating your weight in churros, and this is the ultimate place to go when visiting Santander. You can get some sandwiches and pinchos but trust me, you’ll want to eat churros until you drop here! With more than 50 years of practice, these guys definitely know what they’re doing. The best bit? They open at 6am on the weekends so if you’ve been partying the night away Spanish style, you can grab some fantastic churros to help make the morning a little sweeter.

I am a francophile, but I love the coffee in Spain! My family used to live in Madrid and I acquired a taste for it then. That was quite a while ago and there is a whole new crop of awesome looking shops to check out next time I go!
