Best Instagram Spots in Bruges – Canals
Dijver Canal
Along the Dijver Canal that runs through the centre of Bruges, there are many great spots for a photo. This little path away from the road is perfect, with the trees lining the left hand side and the cute terraces visible in the background.

2Be Bruges
This spot is definitely a hidden gem and makes for a great shot composition! To find it, you’ll need to go inside a place called 2Be Bruges. It’s a shop and bar. Upstairs you’ll find loads of comic book memorabilia.
When inside, head up the stairs. On the stairwell under the Smurfs mural wall, you’ll see a glass door. This takes you out to this great balcony. It’s such a private spot in what is always a busy city, and its great to people watch for a minute or two.
Since you need to go through the shop to get here, you’ll need to make sure you visit during opening hours. They are 10am-7pm Thurs-Tues (Closed Wednesday).

Quay of the Rosary (Rozenhoedkaai)
The Quay of the Rosary is one of the most photographed places in Bruges. It’s actually what the balcony in the previous photo spot looks down on (you can probably spot the same tree in both of the pictures)! You can also see the Belfry of Bruges in the background.
A few of the buildings around this spot are hotels, and I can’t think of anything more dreamy than waking up to that view in the morning.

Koningstraat (Jan Van Eyck Square)
Behold, my favourite photo spot in Bruges. These gorgeous canal houses look down the Spiegelrei canal, with the Poortersloge art centre in the centre.

Peerdenbrug (Pear Bridge)
The house in the background of this photo definitely makes it. It’s adorned with leaves so in the summer, it’s bright and green. In the autumn you’ll see the most beautiful oranges and reds.
Dating back to the 1600s, the stone arch bridge is a marvel in itself.

Best Instagram Spots in Bruges – Buildings
Chocolatier Dumon
This lovely chocolatier is one of three locations in Bruges. It’s by far my favourite spot in the city. It sits out from the street, and is about a third shorter than a normal building, so it should look completely out of place. However, it somehow just fits into the charm of Bruges in a perfect way.

Spiegelrei Houses
It’s really easy to get full shots of these houses because you have the canal in between you, because it puts you far enough away not to have to set your camera at an angle.
You’ll find the beautiful Flemish style all over the city, but along this canal are some of the prettiest and easiest to shoot!

St Walburgha’s Church
St Walburgha’s Church is just one of many beautiful churches in Bruges. The baroque style and sheer size of the building make for an amazing photo, even if you can’t get the whole church in like me!

Best Instagram Spots in Bruges – Streets
Genthof Street
As soon as we wandered down this street I knew I had to take a photo. There’s something about the pop of colour from the red and the way the street curves off that makes it stand out to me.
Photo Co-ordinates: 51°12’47.3″N 3°13’42.4″E

Blinde-Ezelstraat
This alleyway leading to Bruges city hall has a gorgeous archway. The intricate gold details pop against the traditional brick houses, and become the focus of the photo.

Westmeers Houses
Here we have yet another cobbled street with the perfect line-up of buildings! This one is back near the train station. I actually snapped this as we were heading home for the day.
Photo Co-ordinates: 51°12’07.1″N 3°13’12.3″E

Oostmeers Street
This shot was taken just one street over from the previous, but heading in the other direction. What I love so much about this one is that you can see one of the towers of the St. Saviour’s Cathedral peeking into the shot.
This happens in quite a few places in the city, as there are so many tall, impressive towers, and it’s great for adding a bit of depth to the shot.
